Cancer Sucks!!!

I havent talked about our battle with cancer on this before but it has come to the point where it has been placed in the forefront of our lives again. Our son was diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma in June of 2006. He has been cancer free since Feb. of 2007. He gets scanned every 3 months for the next 5 years. On Sept 2nd his scan found a mass of some kind on his neck area. Thinking it could be an infected lymph node we have been going to Texas Children's Hospital every 2 weeks for the site to be checked. His re-scan of the area showed no change and another mass under his chin. This has baffled doctors because in 6 weeks (the time span between scans) the mass should have done something. If it was cancer it would have grown.... an infected lymph node it would have shrunk. The concensus is to have them both removed which will happen on the 17th of Nov. My Mom gut tells me it is a benign growth but only when we get the pathology back will we know for sure.

Ike Update

We are fine! We evacuated on Thursady and I have to say it was sooo much better than hurricane Rita 3 years ago. It only took us 6 hours for a 4 hour trip. Our home was spared and there are so many others who now have nothing. Andra and Paul were excellent hosts and offered their home for as long as we needed it. We really had a good time there and I wish we actually lived there permanently. The country life would be well suited for us. It of course is not possible right now with Dylan's cancer treatment being so close but it is our goal to retire there.

Finally...

I finished it. It took me forever but I finished it! This book was good but it didnt have the same feel as the others.And what kind of name is Renesme anyway??!!! I am way more attached to my fanfiction.... it actually could have been a fanfiction story.. goodness knows there are a few that have the same ring as the actual book. I am done ranting.... I read my blog today and noticed something kind of off. I guess there are several ways to take the way I said "hire out" so I will clarify. My talent for scrapbooking has been hired out. I just finished a 8x8 baby girl book for a friend of mine from the store. I have to say it was quite beautiful ( now that I have broken my arm patting myself on the back ) hehehe. She has also asked me to do a Ministy book for her and I am quite excited! I willpost pics when I am finished.

Edward is a Beefcake

I am about 2/3's through my new book and I am pleased for the most part with it. My obsessed friends and I made a very fun girls night out of the book release party. We had a blast and even met some more crazed fans who are super sweet! We got in line at 5:00 for our armbands the purchase our book and were even the first group to get in at midnight to buy it! Which tickled me to no end! I was so excited that I have to admit I read ahead a little cause I couldnt wait. To those that know me this isnt a surprise. I have also been reading fanfiction and and am as obsessed with that as I am with the books. Its a small way of never letting it end!

Woo Hoooo!

I got my first real hire out job! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. I also cant wait until Friday.. Breaking Dawn comes out and I cant wait to see where Miss Meyers genius will take us! Summer is flying by and we are working on getting Jordan enrolled in college.

25 days and Counting!!!

I am soooo excited for the new Stephenie Meyer book Breaking Dawn to be out! I have been telling everyone that will sit still long enough to read her series of books. I will be a Barnes and Noble at 12:01 to get my copy and I cant wait. Anyway, we had a blast for the 4th. We went to a good friend of ours and they have a pool so the boys and David played volleyball and I visited all day.

Officially Obsessed

Ok! I never have time to read... but my friend Rhonda(thanks so much) recommended a book for me to read. I gobbled it up in 2 days. Then fould out the were 2 others in the series. She lent me those and they were also consumed. When i was younger I used to read all the time. Not since V. C. Andrews have I been this excited in a collection of books and an author. Its the series Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I find myself CONSTANTLY thinking of the characters and the next book and the movie coming out in December. Rhonda and I have a "girl date" that night to go and see it! The 4th book will be out in the beginning of August and you can bet we will be at that bookstore to get our hands on it. What I find so facinating about the whole thing is that these are teen novels! But so well written. Well... I am off to go read the first book again!
